2019 April/May: Local Town Elections

Following nearly  10  years of  pro-active campaigning for a fairer housing allocation for Cheadle,

the Secretary of Cheadle Unite - Greg Powell has decided to stand as one of a group of independents to    represent Cheadle Town Council.

   Greg Powell :

‘ Our group of ‘Independent Voices for Cheadle’ is a collective mix without party affiliation determined to do the best we can for Cheadle.  With a rich mix of backgrounds experience, ages skills and passions as independent minds, we hope to work for the best future possible for Cheadle .

For my part I have fought for over 9 years against excessive inappropriate housing plans that will damage the Unique Character of the Town and for a lower allocation that focuses on affordable houses for our younger generation and appropriate housing for our elderly.  The fight goes on with  our current huge allocation sitting with the Planning Inspector. Our roads are congested  and running at capacity, we need to work to reduce pollution from traffic that our children breath walking to and from school and focus on think local and better use of our high street and local businesses.

Please support us all on the 2nd May elections. You can vote for every one of us that is standing in your ward.’

1320 Houses/Dwellings Still Planned for Cheadle

An unsustainable swell of over 20% using our already congested roads and stretched Schools, Doctors and Dentists.
