2013 September: Cheadle East Housing

23rd September 2013 Cheadle East - Developer Housing Proposals are Back!


After SMDC removed Cheadle East from the Local Development Framework, David Wilson Homes are now looking to put development of our much valued green fields (see our small image above) in Cheadle East back on the table with 160 Properties proposed for Cheadle East.


The following letter has gone out to some residents in the surrounding areas in Cheadle East (from Ashbourne road area down to Rakeway Road). Members of Cheadle Unite have already raised the issue with SMDC and requested details of what exactly is going on via corespondence with builders via a freedom of information request. To our knowledge we are still waiting for more details from the Planning Inspector hearings that went on at the beginning of the year. We understood general sites weren't down for consideration until 2014. Cheadle East was supposed to have been struck off. The Letter (below) details an exhibition of the proposals on the 2nd of October.


We will update this site when we know more. In the meantime please attend and make your feelings known.
